Slide grammar
The DWA Core v1 language is built on Marp classes. Markdown defines the content, classes choose its layout, and the theme provides the styles and the graphic backgrounds. No preprocessor is needed.
Reference source
This section restates and illustrates the repository's language guide (docs/language/langage.md), which remains the reference for the vocabulary. The list of classes is generated directly from the catalog used by the extension.
The directive
<!-- _class: layout [composition] [parameters] [options] -->Brackets mark what is optional: do not type them. Classes are separated by spaces, not commas.
<!-- _class: content image-text-80 with-title with-legend fit color-2 small branded -->| Element | Family | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
content | Layout | Main content layout |
image-text-80 | Composition | Image on the left, 80% of the usable width |
with-title | Option | Dedicated slot for the slide title |
with-legend | Option | Dedicated slot for the caption |
fit | Fit | Whole image, no cropping |
color-2 | Palette | Second palette |
small | Size | Reduced typography |
branded | Option | DWA signature in the top right |
The rules
- Only one layout per slide:
title,toc,chapter,callout,contentorclosing. - At most one composition (
cols-N,image-text,gallery,timeline…). Exception:cols-Nalso serves as a parameter forgalleryandtimeline. - Only one palette (
color-1tocolor-9), only one size (mediumorsmall), only one fit (fitorbg). - Word order has no effect. The suggested order is a readability convention: layout, composition, parameters, options.
_class or class?
The _ prefix limits the directive to the current slide: this is the normal usage, slide by slide. The persistent class directive (without _) also applies to the following slides; the extension understands it for diagnostics and suggestions, but only generates the structure automatically for _class.
DWA theme format and dimensions
- 16:9 format, 1280 × 720 pixels.
- 64-pixel margins at the top and bottom, 72 pixels on the sides.
- Montserrat font if installed, Arial otherwise.
- The fifteen graphic backgrounds are embedded in the CSS: no separate file.
