First step

DWA : diagnostiquer l’activation sur ce document (diagnose activation on this document) shows the exact cause when assistance does not activate:

• the document is not in Markdown mode;
• dwa.enabled is false;
• the frontmatter contains marp: false;
• the YAML is invalid or not closed;
• no Marp declaration or theme is present.

DWA : préparer ce document pour DWA (prepare this document for DWA) switches the document to Markdown and adds marp: true, without imposing or replacing the theme. The content and other YAML keys are kept. This command does not change dwa.enabled.

Common problems

DWA commands do not appear

Check that the extension is installed and enabled in the window, profile and environment you are using (WSL and SSH have their own extensions).

Suggestions appear, but not the expected rendering

The CSS is chosen by comparing its @theme with the name declared in the document. A dwa.themePath meant for another theme is ignored; the extension then looks for themes registered in markdown.marp.themes, then <nom-du-thème>.css and theme.css nearby. Run DWA : choisir le thème CSS pour DWA et Marp (choose the CSS theme for DWA and Marp) again.

A missing CSS file or browser affects rendering, not language suggestions.

"Navigateur indisponible" (browser unavailable) in the status bar

Install Chrome, Chromium or Edge in the environment that runs the extension (under WSL: a Linux browser), or set dwa.overflow.browserPath.

"Mesure partielle" (partial measurement)

An image is remote or cannot be found, or the document is not saved. Save the file and use local images.

The callout does not change size

You need: a saved file, a trusted folder, a local browser and a theme that provides the callout-size-50 to callout-size-180 classes. Otherwise, a message asks you to update the theme. An unsaved CSS file pauses measurement.

Marp Property suggestions have disappeared

This is intentional: see Suggestions without noise.

Two identical overflow warnings

Marp's experimental diagnostic markdown.marp.diagnostics.slideContentOverflow is also enabled: disable one of the two checks.
